PC NetBackup™ Free Trial Offer
NetAccess is introducing a new product that enables clients to easily and inexpensively protect their important data files through a secure, Internet-based, offsite backup service. We are so convinced that you will find our PC NetBackup™ service beneficial that we will even assist you in the installation of the service. We will also provide you the first month of PC NetBackup™ free. After the month, if you do not wish to use the service we will deactivate your PC NetBackup™ account. If you wish to continue, you will be invoiced based on the monthly package you select. The service can be scaled easily to fit changing data requirements and starts from $9.95/month. Unfortunately, this service is not currently available for Macintosh users. For more information on NetBackup™ see http://www.nas.net/services/netbackup.phtml or contact Wendy (905-524-2001 x227) or Alina (905-524-2001 x221).

Customer Care Appointments
Over the past six months NetAccess has been scheduling customer care appointments. These appointments can be scheduled to fit your busy schedule, and are designed to ensure that you are taking full advantage of NetAccess services, and that you are on the service package best suited for your needs. Often, significant savings can also be achieved by bundling your NetAccess services together in one of our NetSuite packages. If you wish to make an appointment or would like more information, contact sales@nas.net or call Wendy at 905-524-2001 x 227.

User Beware: Domain Ownership
Do you know who legally owns your domain name? You might be surprised to know it is not your organization, but the person who registered the domain. Even if you are the owner of the company using this domain name and/or requested the domain name to be registered, it could be someone in your I.T. department or your web developer who owns your domain name. Not all registration companies have the best interests of their clients in mind. Some will register the domain in their own name. Some will send official looking invoices in order to trick domain owners into transferring their domains. Some take advantage of the opportunity by making it difficult to transfer domain names. Service Agreements need to be carefully reviewed prior to signing. Contact us if you have questions or concerns about the present ownership of your domain at info@nas.net.

SMTP AUTH Feature
NetAccess is in the process of making it easier to send email while also reducing the vulnerability of our servers to Spam abuse and denial of service attacks. Our mail server supports SMTP Authentication which allows remote users to authenticate themselves before submitting messages. This service is especially useful for the clients who travel and need to send messages from an alternate (i.e., non-NetAccess) Internet connection.

SMTP Authentication requires an email client that supports SMTP Authentication protocols. Fortunately, it has become a common and necessary feature and most major email clients like Eudora, Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape Messenger, and Pegasus support it.

Instructions for activating SMTP Authentication for your email client can be found on the NetAccess Support page (http://www.nas.net/support) under "email/news" (you will need your usreid and password to enter the Support site). In general terms the settings will typically be found under "Outgoing Mail Servers" under the heading "My server requires authentication". In this section you simply enter your email userid and password or select "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" to activate this feature.
