Bell works with NetAccess to Improve Network Reliability
NetAccess met recently with Bell Wholesale Carrier Services (BWCS) to review reliability issues concerning the Bell network. BWCS admitted the cause of the recent instability was again faulty equipment at the Bell Central Office. BWCS described steps being taken to improve the reliability of their ADSL network which includes implementing redundant connections to all their Broadband Access Servers. In addition, to improve the reliability of the main connection to NetAccess they are proposing a redundant 100 Mbps connection to a second Bell Central Office. This will provide a fully redundant, backup connection which will guarantee the integrity of the connection between Bell and NetAccess. For more information contact
info@nas.net.

Staffing Announcements
NetAccess is pleased to announce two new staff appointments.
Effective April 1, 2005, Jason Hersey has joined NetAccess full-time as Technical Sales and Service Specialist. Jason has been a close associate of NetAccess for over 10 years, and has wide Internet, IT, and business experience. Prior to joining NetAccess, Jason ran his own consulting business, and was in high demand among area businesses. Previous experience includes work as Senior Technology Director and Service Manager for CompuSmart Hamilton, and server sales specialist at IBM Canada Ltd. Jason also has extensive experience with IT services in the insurance industry. NetAccess is very pleased to have Jason join our sales and service team, and know that our clients will benefit immensely from this new addition to our staff. Jason will also be working as a primary technical service contact for our area partners to help develop comprehensive Internet solutions for our clients.
We are also pleased to announce the addition of Carly Paquette as our new Sales and Administrative Assistant. Carly is a recent graduate from the University of Windsor in Communication Studies (with a minor in Political Science). Carly comes to NetAccess with experience in both the manufacturing and service industry, and with strong computer skills, sales, and service experience. Carly began work full time on March 21st, and has been training under Wendy MacLeod to provide sales and service support to NetAccess clients and partners. Carly has already become an integral part of the NetAccess core staff, and she looks forward to the opportunity to work with clients and partners.
In other important news, Wendy MacLeod, our Corporate Sales Coordinator, has decided to return home to New Brunswick later this month. This was a hard decision for Wendy, but her desire to be closer to her family won out. Wendy has been with NetAccess for nearly 5 years, and has set very high standards for customer service. She will be greatly missed by all of the team at NetAccess, our partners, and many of our clients who came to rely on Wendy for assistance with a wide range of service needs. We wish her well in her move back home, and with her career change.
Please Note: effective Monday, April 25th, Carly Paquette will be taking over Wendy's extension 227. Wendy and Carly have worked very closely together over the past month, and have done everything possible to make the transition smooth. Carly can also be reached via email at carlyp@nas.net .

Does your PC feel a little sluggish?
How would you feel if there were programs running on your computer without your authorization, monitoring and tracking your Internet habits? These programs usually get installed by means of a security loophole in your operating system and are mostly unavoidable if the proper protection isn’t in place. If you use the internet on a regular basis you are at risk. However, there are a few tools that can help keep your computer clean from unwarranted annoyances. By visiting the following sites you can download and install some tools that will help keep you safe, and most likely breath some new life into your PC:
Adaware from Lavasoft, Spybot, Microsoft AntiSpyware
