NetAccess Reseller NetHost™ for Developers
NetAccess is pleased to announce its new Reseller NetHost™ packages. We know that having a good hosting environment is essential for developers to attract and retain hosting clients. Reseller NetHost™ is a complete front end control panel and integrated back end for automating the day to day tasks of web hosting operation such as domain registration, DNS management, email management, FTP, cgi-bin, database access, and billing. On the front end is a user-friendly and intuitive web interface that allows complete customer self-care that can drastically cut down your maintenance and customer support costs. On the back end is a system for managing server side operation tasks that includes support for various hosting plans, operating systems, database platforms, and e-commerce services. For everyday tasks, no Operating System knowledge is required.
Our Reseller NetHost™ provides an ideal environment for those that offer website development services. This enables developers to spend their time creating websites rather than dealing with the problems of managing server hardware and software. NetAccess reseller hosting plans start at rates as low as $125/mo for up to 25 websites and easily scales up to hundreds of sites. If you would like more information or would like to see a demo of our UNIX-based hosting environment (Windows to follow shortly), please contact us at sales@nas.net or 905-524-2001 x227. An online demo can be easily arranged and can be done with you sitting in front of your computer. If you like what you see you are welcome to try the service at no cost or obligation.

NetAccess NetLine™
You can potentially save hundreds of dollars a year with NetLine™. NetAccess can now provide you with a dedicated copper line for your DSL service without requiring it to be a phone line (i.e. having phone service). If you use a separate telephone line just for your DSL service or if you primarily use a cell phone then you can save hundreds of dollars each year by switching to NetLine™. Pricing starts as low as $9.95/mo if you are located in Hamilton or Burlington (even less for locations in Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa).
NetLine™ has other advantages as well. It avoids any problems of interfering with Fax, or phone service, or security systems. It provides a low cost, dedicated service for your Internet connection.
If you would like more information on NetLine™, please contact us at sales@nas.net or call Carly at 905-524-2001 x227.

NetAccess Server NetBackup™
If you have critical data you should be backing up offsite, NetAccess has a simple, economical, and effective solution for you. Server NetBackup™ enables you to take advantage of any high speed connection (DSL, fibre, cable) to automatically perform regular full, differential, or incremental backups of your important data during off hours. Create ease of mind from knowing your critical data is secure and best of all it takes no effort on your part. NetAccess will do the installation, set up a schedule, and test the backup procedures and then monitor the backups to ensure your data is being backed up.
Restoring data is a simple point and click operation done via a secure web interface. Restores are completely under your control and are done in real time.
If you would like more information or would like to see a demo of Server NetBackup™, please contact us at sales@nas.net or 905-524-2001 x221. An online demo can be easily arranged and can be done with you at your computer.

SPF - Sender Policy Framework
Another reminder about SPF - SPF is a new standard designed to stop email forgery. Its aim is to make spammers send email from their real domains, instead of hijacking the accounts of innocent users. SPF fights return-path address forgery and makes it easier to identify spoofs. To use SPF, Domain owners identify mail servers that are allowed to send email using DNS, and then receiving mail servers verify the sender address against this information. This can then distinguish authentic messages from forgeries before any message data is transmitted.
NetAccess will be implementing SPF for the "nas.net" and "netaccess.ca" domains starting June 1st, 2006. If you use these domains in your email address you must ensure that you send email using the NetAccess mail servers and NOT any other mail servers (outgoing mail server should normally be "smtp.nas.net") . If your connection provider (e.g., Sympatico, Rogers, etc.) requires you to send email through their mail server you must either either use NetAccess webmail or set your email client to send email using port 2525 (in place of the normal port 25).
Note this will only be a problem if you DO NOT use a NetAccess connection AND if you use a nas.net (or netaccess.ca) email address. For more information contact support@nas.net

Modem Replacement
Unfortunately modems, like most everything else, do not last forever and we are beginning to see modem failures typically with modems than have been in active service for more than two or three years. If you would like to be proactive and replace your old modem with a new modem that provides the latest ADSL2 and ADSL2+ standards supporting higher speeds (up to 25 Mbps) and longer distances, contact sales@nas.net or Jane at 905-524-2001 x221 for information on purchase and rental options. Rental can be an attractive option as it provides automatic protection from obsolescence and free replacement if the modem ever fails.
